It never rains but it pours is the old saying. A while back I wrote a less than one page information piece explaining what was the best ‘attitude’ to take concerning the idea of so-called strange aerial phenomena or UFOs or flying saucers as some have called them.
The Quran is not a normal book. It is a fantastic Book that goes beyond normal because it just keeps on giving even after many centuries!
Naturally, Islam, which includes the Quran and acceptable hadith materials, is a complete religion for humanity, by GOD’s WILL, as stated in all the scriptures (when and if they are read correctly), will be able to handle that simple problem that seems to ‘dog’ so many especially in the Western world.
So, here is that hadith information AGAIN but with more added ‘stuff and nonsense’ information compelling some to run around in circles like a dog chasing its tail!
“ALLAH created these stars for three purposes: to adorn the heavens, to stone the devils and as signs by which to navigate. Whoever seeks anything else in them is mistaken and does not benefit from them, and he is wasting his time and effort in seeking something of which he has no knowledge.” (Bukhari, Baab fi’l-Nujoom)
That should be very clear. However, because people can’t read everything written about the subject, it seems there should be more clarity presented to reinforce the above hadith! Indeed! The US Government along with other governments and some responsible people are still spending huge sums of money in investigating this topic.
So, once again, Islam to the rescue based on material which I think will be self-explanatory. With the added suggestion to spend the money somewhere else that will prove to be more profitable to the health and welfare of the people!
Occam’s razor is a no-nonsense approach which cuts through complex issues. A 14th century maxim written by a Franciscan friar William of Ockham “Numquam ponenda est pluralitas sine necessitate,” can be translated as “Plurality must never be posited without necessity.” This means, with all else being equal, simplicity is best.
To begin:
One of the most important books ever developed on this subject which hopefully will be the end all of books so that we can move forward is a book written for Congress in around 1964. This book was published by the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena or NICAP for short entitled The UFO Evidence, edited by Richard H. Hall. The project was headed up by a Major Donald Keyhoe. This book provides ample evidence that there is really something buzzing around in our skies.
That notion should be readily apparent but it seems because no one can nail it down in a positive, constructive way, humans can keep on doing loop de loops again and again while moving like a rodent in a circular wheel always moving but getting nowhere!
A look at this book gives us an idea of ‘strange happenings’ way back when that thought cannot be accounted for by ‘human beings’ and that is exactly logical and correct when one applies the old grey matter (mind)!
This whole subject is weird in that it shows man’s fascination with so-called parlor tricks such that man can’t quite get a handle on these things! Well now it is different thanks in part to Islam and, of course, ‘human logic’!
WE ARE NOT ALONE!!!
That would appear to be obvious but what is not so obvious is the ‘what are we dealing with’ and for that we go to the complete religion of Islam in helping us decide just exactly what we are dealing with here! In order to do that we have to take some Islamic data and together with common sense try and come up with just why it was stated that ‘and he {man} is wasting his time and effort in seeking something of which he has no {practical} knowledge’.
We all can have our opinions on this issue. However, the best opinions will be those based not on wild whims or assumptions but on some type of evidence that matches the results. Wishful thinking or selfish prejudices only cloud the real issues.
True, everyone has a right to think whatever their minds can conceive but there is a difference between wild theories with no substantial basis and logical assumptions based on concrete, connected and applicable as well as feasible thought processes. So, when studying the unknown one would hope to find some common ground in which to use our GOD-given logic.
Therefore, any assumption is valid until it’s not. So, in any case one can ask; “Do the thought processes maintain a logical connection with known, viewed or recorded evidence? Or is a blindfolded person just throwing darts at a specific target trying to hit a bullseye by way of chance?
So, when we take a look at the ‘evidence’ carefully, can we match behavior patterns, or occurrences within the realm of known occurrences instead of just going on a ‘fishing expedition’?
Let us turn to Islam and a book called The UFO Evidence and or similar details about such strange phenomena already recorded in order to get a sense of the nature of what we are dealing with!
Abu Tha’labah Al Khushani narrates that the Prophet (pbh) said: “The Jinn are of three types: a type that has wings and fly through the air; a type that look like snakes and dogs {taking on animal shapes}; and a type that stops for a rest then resumes its journey.” This hadith is said to be authentic – as ALLAH WILLS.
Here ‘wings’ could be taken as that which holds up that type of Jinn, meaning the ability to fly. Back in those days, people would have no word for aircraft, self-propelled or otherwise and certainly none would guess that such creatures actually live in the sky or maintain their life-style in the sky.
Some breakdown this category even further into more refined and smaller steps by declaring that there are actually 10 types or categories of Jinn – ALLAH Alone Knows Best!
Whatever the case may be, the Jinn have demonstrated a high degree of skill and intelligence as recorded in the Quran. We get this concept from the Jinn being mentioned with Prophet Solomon (pbh) as they performed some engineering feats for him.
Furthermore, one of the powerful Jinn declared to Solomon’s query that he could bring the Queen of Sheba’s throne (located several thousands of kilometers away) within a matter of minutes. Admittedly, that would require some pretty, fantastic display of a scientific/engineering accomplishment!
He {Solomon} said (to his own gathering of men) “You chiefs! Which of you can bring me her {Queen of Sheba’s} throne {located over a thousand kilometers away in her land now known as Yemen} before they {these pagans} come to me in submission {to the Way that is Straight}?”
A stalwart of the Jinn {one of the powerful types of Jinn called an Ifreet} said; “I will bring it to you before you rise from your council: Indeed I have full strength for the purpose and may be trusted.”
Said one {human} who had {mystical} knowledge of the Book: “I will bring it {her Throne} to you before ever your {normal non-meditative} glance returns to you. Then when (Solomon) saw it placed firmly before him, he said: “This is by the Grace of my LORD to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful {to HIM}. Truly his {mankind’s gratitude} is (a plus) for his own soul; but if any is ungrateful, truly my LORD is FREE of all needs, SUPREME in HONOR!” Quran (27:38-40)
What beings are Jinn?
WE {ALLAH} created men from sounding clay; from mud molded into shape.
And the Jinn race, WE had created before {men} from a fire of a scorching wind {a smokeless fire}. Quran (15:26-27)
Various hadiths and Quranic verses depict certain Jinn as highly intelligent, special engineer-types having special knowledge of the principles of how the physical universe works. Hence, some of them have abilities to use what we humans might call ‘FORCES’ to move throughout their environment as to what we would consider ‘miraculously’!
Other hadiths hint that certain Jinn have the power to ‘communicate’ nearly instantly with other Jinn-types. These ‘creatures’ are not all bound to an Earthly existence as some can maneuver through the air fairly easily and make it a practice to actually live in the sky.
Some Jinn are quality engineers or builders and Solomon (pbh) used them to construct various items that would have been overly difficult if not impossible at that time for any man to do. Jinn also have a family structure and live and die in their own way.
And of Satans were some who dived for him {Solomon – to gather precious stones deep under the sea} and did other {engineering} work besides; and it was WE WHO guarded them {by keeping them from mischief}. Quran (21:82)
Like humans, some Jinn are very moral in their quest to understand their CREATOR:
Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Quran). They said, ‘We have really heard a wonderful recital!
It gives Guidance to the Right {WAY} and we have believed therein: We shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our LORD.
And exalted is the Majesty of our LORD: HE has taken neither a wife nor a son.
There were some foolish ones among us who used to utter extravagant lies against ALLAH.
But we do think that no man or Jinn should say anything that is untrue against ALLAH.
{It is} true that there were persons among mankind who took shelter among persons of the Jinns but they {the Jinns} increased them into further error.
And they {the faulty Jinn} (came to) think as {some of} you {humans} thought that ALLAH would not raise up any one (to Judgment).
And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires.
We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations {in the heavens}, to (steal) a hearing {of universal import}; but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush.
And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their LORD (really) intends to guide them to right conduct.
There are among us some that are righteous and some the contrary: We follow divergent paths.
But we think that we can by no means frustrate ALLAH throughout the earth nor can we escape HIM by flight.
And as for us {the good group} since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his LORD has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice {when the accounts of all will be settled in truthful Judgment}.
Among us are some that submit their wills (to ALLAH) and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills – they have sought out the path of right conduct.
But those who swerve; they are but fuel for the Hell-Fire.’ Quran (72:1-15)
Other knowledge about Jinn that can be found in hadith material:
- They can communicate with each other near instantaneously and over long distances.
- They need to eat and drink (taking sustenance) as we humans do but in their own peculiar way.
- Every human being has a Jinn assigned to him and this Jinn will course through the body as blood courses through the human. {Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported that the Messenger of ALLAH (pbh) said, “Each one of you has a devil-companion from the Jinn over him.” They said, “Even you, O Messenger of ALLAH?” The Prophet said, “Even me, yet ALLAH helped me against him until he embraced Islam. He does not order me to do anything but good.” – Muslim}
From this we get the notion that Jinn living inside the human being act as a suggestive creature either encouraging the good or encouraging the bad.
Jinn in reality are another life force operating in some cases like what would appear to be ‘beyond the laws of physics’ for clay-based creatures as ourselves. That is because they are not ‘clay-based’ creatures and have ‘other types of laws’ attending to their life-style. {Aishah reported that the Prophet (pbh) said: “The angels were created from light, the Jinn were created from {smokeless} fire, and Adam was created from that which has been described to you.” (Muslim)}
- Jinn have certain limits and are not left unaccounted for but can be ‘terminated’ in short order if their getting out of line is going to be damaging to ALLAH’s Plan. In other words, ALLAH has things covered down to the minutest dot and detail and no action or activity by men or Jinn will have ALLAH stymied or feeling helpless. This, of course, sounds deep and mysterious but one must be mindful of his own affairs (limitations) and keep his nose from getting involved too deeply into things which are actually none of his business!
- Jinn like man show variety of types and like various men some will be powerful with great technical abilities while others are what one might suggest as being somewhat ‘retarded’. Just look at human beings. Some are virtual geniuses with a very high IQ while others can be said to be born with extreme mental and or physical deficiencies and some act bizarrely.
- The human being is here to WORSHIP the ONE GOD and not to ponder ‘how many angels can dance on the head of a pin’!!
Recently, according to Sean Kirkpatrick, the office of All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) — has received several hundreds of new UFO reports from U.S. military personnel (Army, Navy and Air Force) described as unidentified anomalous phenomena, or UAP — the government’s name for UFOs which have been sighted in the air, under water or even in space.
A National Geographic Survey done in June of 2012 showed that 36% of the population (roughly 80 million people) are believed to accept that UFO’s exist. In other parts of the world, namely South America and some parts of Europe the percentage might be higher. So, we are dealing with a real subject of beliefs though bizarre it may be but not something rare.
The Evidence:
In 1917, three very young peasant girls made the fantastic claim of having been visited by the Virgin Mary for the purpose, one would guess, of telling the world fantastic prophecies of the future. The culmination of this event became known as The Miracle of the Sun (Portuguese: Milagre do Sol), also known as the Miracle of Fatima (Wikipedia).
Anyone interested in these bizarre events can go to any encyclopedia and do further research about this issue while paying close attention to the positive and negative aspects of the case.
The description of the so-called Virgin Mary was difficult to get from these peasant girls because the ‘entity’ appeared in a globe with a bright light covering her face. Why? One doesn’t know but magic depends on sleight of hand. However, it was reported that this so-called ‘apparition’ talked in the girl’s native language and appeared to be midget-like in height.
This ‘midget-like’ creature gave the girls important information about future world events or so it is said but many of the populace, when hearing about their story, thought it was some kind of a joke. Importantly, the little girls demanded proof from this apparition and they got it!
They were told that exactly 3 months from this day, she would perform a tremendous miracle so that all would believe and be convinced from their story. EXACTLY, 3 months from the time set by this midget apparition and right on schedule, which would be astronomically nearly impossible if this were a joke, an event did actually occur.
It is estimated that between 30,000 and 40,000 people who were gathered for the event (hoopla – unnecessary fuss surrounding something) and even Pope Pious 12th reported seeing some strange but similar event.
It was reported that a disk-like object was seen in the sky and this disk began to rotate and weave back and forth while changing colors. It also began to drop towards the ground causing much panic amongst the gathered crowd as they thought that the Sun was falling to Earth.
Wikipedia gives both pros and cons for this event in case people are interested. The important thing, however, is that this ‘midget’ character called what would be considered nearly an impossible event and that is to name the exact time this future event would occur unless she and her supporting cast were behind it all from the beginning!!!
The bizarre behavior of the 3 peasant girls and their emulations of copying people who like to torture their bodies with painful physical activities including diets, approved, by the way, by this so-called midget who kept in some form of contact with them throughout the years, and mysterious information that they put down in 3 or so letters have served really no function outside the Roman Catholic Church.
This is not a way to conduct intelligent business presumed to be on the so-called ‘highest levels’ of importance. And the idea that this ‘thing’ calling itself GOD’s mother should be a clue to the ‘devilish tricks’ that can be played on a person’s mind.
A TV program narrated by Robert Stack called Unsolved Mysteries (1987-1997) which I watched over 2 decades ago showed an interview with a woman who claimed to be in touch with some kind of alien force. Talking is one thing any mentally deficient person can do but the proof must be in the ‘seeing’ to believe.
So, because she said that she could provide proof by having some aerial phenomenon occur and because the TV crew had camera men stationed to witness the event, this was prime time hardcore proof of something! And something did happen and was actually filmed!
The TV crew filmed at a distant spot in the sky that they were told to film and sure enough a small black cloud began to form just at that moment in time as was requested by this aged, female friend of so-called aliens from outer space. After all, seeing is believing right?
It would appear, logically at least, that aliens who were so advanced technologically to travel across enormous distances and were eager for human contact could only conjure up what amounted to a ‘cheap parlor trick’!!!
If any civilization can figure out how to travel billions and billions of miles through unforgiving space but can only come up with a cheap parlor trick in their desperate attempt at human-alien contact, then one might assume it isn’t just humans who need help medical or otherwise!
The next two examples come from the book, The UFO Evidence. It has been over 53 years since I have seen this book so I hope that my memory serves me well.
In Iran, when America was welcomed there before the overthrow of the Shaw of Iran American jets assisted in patrolling the skies. On one such sortie a jet was scrambled to investigate a strange object in the sky. Upon getting close to that object, the pilot determined to prove to this intruder that he meant business and therefore, he began to target the UFO with his weaponry system.
At that same exact moment, his electrical system failed and he had to call off pursuit of the UFO. While turning back to his base, his electrical system regained its normal usage. To me that shows nearly instant communication between what was in the object being pursued and what was inside the pilot. And because every human has some type of Jinn inside himself/herself and they have their ways of communicating with each other, this goes in the books as justifiable evidence.
There have even been some reports, which admittedly are hard to verify, of some strange aerial vehicles being ‘formed’ or constructed by changing shape while in the process of flying! That is definitely strange in that some creatures are capable of going through the process of building a ‘craft’ while flying it at the same time. This would require the concept that these things, if real, are definitely not clay-like earth dependent creatures like man but are made of different stuff!
Added to the above weirdness comes the very rare report of ‘direct contact’ with these things called ‘aerial crafts’ for lack of a better term.
It was mentioned, if memory serves me correctly, that an airlines in Canada near the US boarder was reported being followed by a UFO and a jet was scrambled over the Great Lakes region. The jet pilot and the UFO were tracked on radar.
The radar showed that the two ‘blips’ were closing upon one another with the jet pilot possibly deciding that this may have been an optical illusion. Anyway, the pilot of the jet took matters into his own hands and presumably decided to ram the UFO. The radar showed two blips on the radar screen getting closer to each other and then only one was left which took off in a hurry.
The jet and pilot never returned to base and whether pieces of the jet were ever fished out of one of the Great Lakes, I can’t recall.
There have even been a few reports from various investigations telling that a strange ‘light-like’ substance arose from underneath the ground’s surface and then became animated and flew off into the sky. What that would entail would be anyone’s guess.
A strange but related event that occurred (supposedly) in the Prophet’s lifetime might be found in the story (hadith?) which states that the Prophet was sitting by a fire with some of his Companions when they all heard a big bang in the night sky. After this event, the Prophet went out wearing a sword while riding his animal and crying out, “I am the Prophet of ALLAH.”
The Prophet saw seven layers of beings with one of them asking if he truly is the Prophet of ALLAH. To prove this, the Prophet supposedly told these ‘beings’ that if the tree he was pointing to came over and testified that he was truly ALLAH’s Prophet, would they then believe? They said, “Yes.” The tree then began to walk over to the Prophet while testifying that he was indeed the Prophet sent by the ONE GOD.
This so-called event, which I recall reading many decades ago has not been verified to my satisfaction and maybe a made-up story.
Unfortunately, I don’t have the necessary skill-set to track down this event or to label it a complete fantasy without the proper knowledge.
All that can be said right now comes from the following source which may or may not be dependable:
It is stated by Imam Baihaqi in “Dalail-e-Nubuwwat” on the authority of Abdullah ibn Masood that the Prophet (pbh) once said to his companions in Makkah: “Whosoever from amongst you desires to see the Jinns, he should come to me tonight.” Abdullah ibn Masood stated that nobody except me came that night etc.
It goes back to what I wrote earlier in another article in that it is OK to believe if someone tells you it is raining outside but if the level of discussion is above that simple thing, then people making such ‘claims’ should bring forth their evidence out into the open to be CAREFULLY SCRUTINIZED IF THEY ARE TELLING THE TRUTH!
Verify, Verify and verify again!
