Jesus (pbh) declares:
“Therefore my FATHER loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it {up} AGAIN.
No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have {been given the} power to lay it down, and I have {been given the} power to take it {up} AGAIN. This Command {Gift} I have received from my FATHER.” John (10:17-18)
This episode fits nicely with the details given in hadith material concerning the death of Moses (pbh) and the death of Prophet Muhammad (pbh). In all the cases mentioned above, the Angel of Death came to announce that it was ‘TIME’ for that particular body to ‘lay down’ its physical life form.
The Angel of Death did not come demanding or in a harsh way but in a way of announcing that the ‘job at hand’ was finished. Moses (pbh) argued and was presented a choice after knocking the Angel’s eye out. Moses (pbh) then decided after the choice was given to him that further delays were useless and so prepared to give up the ‘ghost’. His body is in the described area that the Prophet (pbh) told about.
The Angel of Death also came to Prophet Muhammad (pbh) and politely requested his attention but offered him a regal choice not given to any other. That choice was to stay on Earth until the time of Judgment as a KING or call his Earthly visit quits and join his COMPANIONS (fellow prophets) ON HIGH. Of course, he chose to exit this world for a much better existence.
Some have declared that it was the poisoned meat given to him by a Jewess that eventually killed him. However, indeed it caused him much pain but seeing how he was given a choice to live for what would have been hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years and in a great capacity at that, it appears that the poisoned meat that he put in his mouth would not be classified as the final determining factor of his death.
Jesus (pbh) is explaining that just because someone slaps him and shows cruelty to him when he was a prisoner in the Roman holding tank does not mean that they will be the determining factor in his survival. In fact the words ‘no one’ that he uses actually means no living soul will be allowed to extinguish his life which translates as no one would be able to kill him or cause him to die!!!
Either it is that way or else Jesus (pbh) doesn’t know what he is talking about as if he has become delirious or deranged! ALLAH FORBID!!!
The real difference between these three prophets is the word AGAIN. However one wants to imagine the meaning of that word, this action will apply specifically to the Christ-soul as a SIGN unto those who can fathom it.
For sure, this world will not see the physical likes of either Moses or Muhammad again but Jesus (pbh) will have to return to lead that Islamic kingdom promised him (end of Isaiah Chapter 53, certain Quranic verses, hadith literature, the Book of Revelation, the Book of Hebrews and Acts, etc. (in their own way) – ALL FORMING AN AGREEMENT ABOUT THIS) and to eventually ‘give up the ghost’ after certain years as all men do showing and proving that he is just a human being!!!
His burial place has been reserved in the City of Light called Medina from whence both Prophet Muhammad and Jesus (peace be upon them both) will arise up together (hadith) and they both will take their respective places and do what the Quran and hadith materials say they will do.
If you keep my commandments {what I have preached you to follow}, you will remain in my love, just as I have {strictly} kept my FATHER’s Commandments and remain in HIS love. John (15:10)
But I do exactly what the FATHER has commanded me {to do}, so that the world may know that I love {and strictly obey} the FATHER. Get up! Let us go on from here. John (14:31)
I {ALLAH} have ONLY created Jinns and men that they may worship {serve} ME. Quran (51:56)
Jesus said to him, “You shall love the LORD your GOD with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
This {then becomes} is the first and greatest Commandment. Matthew (22:37-38)
“I am the LORD your GOD, WHO brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before ME {meaning in place of ME and/or in addition with/to ME”} Exodus (20:2-3).
Failure to meet this requirement can be likened to a very thirsty man in this world who is adrift in a very large sea. He can drink the water of this sea to slacken his thirst and indeed for such a very brief time his thirst will be slackened. Yet, soon will his thirst come back again even more raging and damaging than before, driving him eventually to a most terrible death.
And of those who ‘spiritually’ die this way, it can be said:
According to Paul:
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness {defined by GOD and not defined by man} found in them that perish {in the secret recesses of the heart or that seat of blessedness of the soul}; because they did NOT truly receive {believe in or fight for} the love of the truth that they might be saved.
And FOR THIS CAUSE {contempt for GOD’s TRUTH so that they will be rejected by GOD} GOD SHALL SEND {WILLFULLY UPON} them STRONG DELUSION that they should believe {in} a lie {focus not on doing what is right – the real food for the soul}:
That they all might be damned who didn’t believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness {took their comfort in DOING OTHER THAN THE TRUTHFUL WAY with the highest example of believing in joining partners with THE ONE GOD}. 2 Thessalonians (2:10-12)
“You have met THIS FATE because {OF WHAT YOUR OWN HANDS HAVE PASSED ON BEFORE YOU – Q (18:57) – AND} you REJOICED on the earth in things OTHER THAN THE TRUTH, and then EXULTED {REVELED} in it.” Q (40:75)}
Leave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement, AND ARE DECEIVED BY THE LIFE OF THIS WORLD. BUT CONTINUE TO ADMONISH THEM WITH IT (AL-QURAN, TRUTH) LEST A SOUL {human being} IS CAUGHT IN ITS OWN RUIN BY ITS OWN ACTIONS: it will find for itself no protector or intercessor EXCEPT ALLAH: if it {that soul} offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted: such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin BY THEIR OWN ACTS: THEY WILL HAVE FOR DRINK (ONLY) BOILING WATER AND FOR PUNISHMENT ONE MOST GRIEVOUS: FOR THEY PERISHED IN REJECTING ALLAH {the ONE GOD}. Quran (6:70)
