What exactly is the ‘perfect marriage’? The perfect marriage is the union and therefore balance between the Letter of the LAW and the Spirit of the LAW. Now that may sound mysterious and it probably is to a great extent but there is a precedent for this.
Because we are not very familiar with the ‘dynamics’ of the religion, we should go into scripture to actually see that most wonderful of marriages concerning us – the human race.
Before even doing that, one should try and keep in mind a few conjectured, essential things that don’t even seem to be connected:
- 1. Adam (pbh), the Adam with the capital ‘A’ became the design or model of man being the representation of that creation.
- 2. Man or rather the ‘spirit’ of man entered into the Earthly environment a little over 10 million years ago.
- 3. A little bit over 52,000 years ago, if one wants to take the New Testament’s genealogy, a soul whom we call adam, adam with a small ‘a’, came down from heaven for the basic purpose of collecting and guiding being a representation of that direction or movement to spiritual development. That would be the Christ-soul.
- 4. The Quran came down to Prophet Muhammad (pbh) in stages AFTER the Old Testament and the New Testament were compiled. That point seems like common sense BUT it does make real sense if one thinks that this BOOK is the LAST REVELATION topping or capping off human spiritual growth in BOOK form. In other words, this last Revelation is the ‘icing’ on the cake, the end all and be all of Revelation and the ribbon that ties everything together wrapped up in ONE PACKAGE – for future reference!*
* {We know that in the earthly Paradise or the Christ-kingdom/era even after his death, THE BOOK (Quran) WILL SIMPLY BE THE QURAN AS LONG AS THE KINGDOM LASTS WHICH ENDS WHEN THE LAST OF THE HUMANS WITH A GRAIN THE SIZE OF A MUSTARD SEED OF FAITH IN HIS HEART GETS ‘TAKEN UP’ (hadith). Then another age comes and the Kabbah will be destroyed and the Quran will be totally taken away from the Earth and what will be left will be simply human garbage.}
So, according to this ‘philosophy’, mankind has been on an ascending or descending order**in proving himself worthy or unworthy of the Great Gift of Paradise! – BUT in groups (troupes-hadith Abu Hurrairah and others) such that blocks or modules are formed by groups of souls interacting with each other for only a specified period of time – a term appointed.
** {There is no need for people to comprehend the basics of this idea just like there is no need for man to cut the Moon in half just because it was done once before. 1% of truth and 99% lies is a pretty poor bargain. Besides that, it would be a complete and total waste of time!}
- 5. Man builds upon himself or causes decay in reaching for that goal of Paradise! So, if one believes and then turns to unbelief and believes again but then turns to unbelief, ALLAH will cut off that person’s light as to when, where and how HE so chooses! (QURAN). Therefore, man can not ‘mock’ THE GOD for whatever a man soweth that shall he reap (New Testament).
The Letter of the LAW declares that we must be obedient for every jot of the LAW such that we become perfect in the LAW. And certainly that was binding for many of ages as man crawled up from the sewer he dug for himself.***
*** {ALLAH’s Mercy and Forgiveness is ALWAYS present, however, and HE does NOT need any help or any spokesperson for the human race. After all HE ALONE IS THE PLANNER AND HE ALONE IS THE SAVIOR. Yet, HE isn’t going to be ‘running around’ starting or putting out fires in HIS creations. So, HE would send out representatives to accomplish what HE has DESIRED from before.
In speaking about mankind, one of the representative-types sent were the category called prophets to steer mankind to a more enlightened and guided pathway. At each ‘stage’ of this journey, the basics remain the same but conditions are tweaked or slightly altered to suit HIS DIVINE PLAN BECAUSE HE ALONE KNOWS THE FUTURE!
For example, a slight change is implemented for the Children of Israel who are now calling themselves Jews:
” (I {Jesus} have come to you), to attest the {truthfulness and commands found in the} Torah which was before me AND to make lawful to you part of what was (Before) forbidden to you {as a Mercy from your LORD}; I have come to you with a Sign from your LORD, so {you Jews} fear ALLAH and obey me. Q (3: 50)
Take the idea that out of billions of souls only several tens of thousands, if that much, could lead the ‘perfect life’. In that case, we don’t have many getting into Paradise IF the Letter of the Law was the only thing enforced.
“Think not that I {Jesus} am come to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth {that you currently know} pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall in any wise pass from the Law till all be fulfilled.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments AND shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them {correctly}, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew (5: 17-19)
But one exemplary was chosen to stand up for mankind as a helpmate (not savior) and have that ‘scourge’ laid upon him.****
**** {This is where the words of Isaiah (pbh) come in as ‘this leadership role‘, which will be guided throughout by ALLAH unto the Christ-soul, will permit the Christ-soul to be an intercessor for the selected human race that qualifies for it.}*****
*****The concept of intersession in Islam is a deep and lengthy one and the best thing to say about that is that no type of intersession will be given by anyone UNLESS ALLAH APPROVES OF IT FIRST!
Jesus declared: “Not every one that says unto me, ‘lord, lord,’ shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but {only} he that does the will of my FATHER WHO is in Heaven.
Many will say to me in that Day {of Judgment}, ‘lord, lord, have we not prophesied in your name, and in your name have cast out devils, and in your name done many wonderful works {which will have been seen to have been accomplished}?’
And then will I profess unto them, ‘I never knew you {I don’t recognize the validity of your corrupted beliefs or actions}: depart {get away from me you thieving liars who try to steal your way into this holy sanctuary} from me, you that {have} work{ed} iniquity.’
“Therefore, whosoever hears these sayings of mine and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock.
And the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house; and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock {STRENGTH of REAL INCORRUPTIBLE FAITH}.
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine and doesn’t do them, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house {Sanctuary for Salvation} upon the sand;
and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” Matthew (7: 21-27)
{ Isaiah (53: 11) ‘After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied {by the gifts given him by his LORD}; by his knowledge, MY righteous servant will justify many, {set the stage for their eventual liberation} and he will bear their iniquities‘.
{Not take away their sins because everyone is responsible for his own sins but in a leadership role as sort of a pathfinder for is not a selfless man not responsible for helping his fellow brother?!!!!!
And who is his fellow brother but the one who worships THE ONE GOD in truth and does NOT climb up by any other way – Gospel of John/New Testament}.
It is true that ALLAH’s Infinite MERCY and FORGIVENESS were always present and for sure HE DOESN’T NEED THE CHRIST-SOUL OR ANY OTHER SOUL OF THE HUMAN RACE******. IN FACT, HE IS ABOVE ALL THINGS – SELF-SUFFICIENT AND INDEPENDENT AND HE HAS NO NEED FOR ANYTHING!
****** {They indeed disbelieved who say that ALLAH is Christ the son of Mary. Say: ” Who then has the least power against ALLAH if HIS WILL were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all – everyone that is on the Earth? For to ALLAH belongs the DOMINION of the heavens and the earth and everything that is between. HE created what HE {so ever} pleases for ALLAH has POWER over all things.” Q (5: 17)}
BUT SUCH IS HIS MOST GENEROUS NATURE TO PROVIDE AVENUES FOR PEOPLE TO GIVE VENT TO THEIR ACTIONS, WORDS AND DEEDS AS TO THEIR CLARIFICATION OF BEING CANDIDATES FOR THE AWESOME BELOVED FINAL RESTING PLACE – PARADISE!
The Spirit of the Law, however, is higher than just repeated acts of worship. For example, blood offerings through the sacrifice of animals to take away sins is now not needed.
What is needed is the keeping of the Law in the spirit of the purpose of the Law. This was shown by Jesus (pbh) in the New Testament when he did some healing work on the Sabbath Day (for the Jews that would be Saturday).
The Jewish Pharisees condemned him for this ‘work’ but Jesus (pbh) put mercy, helpfulness above the strictness of a Law which in some cases was interpreted as a hindrance to human kindness for the purpose of helping others come into the pathway of good worship.
‘And he {Jesus} entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there who had a withered hand.
And they {Pharisees} watched him to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day, that they might accuse him {of breaking the Law}.
And he said unto the man who had the withered hand, “Stand forth.”
And he {Jesus} said unto them, “Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath days, or to do evil? To save life, or to kill?” But they held their peace.
And when he had looked round about on them with anger {due to their intransigence and hard heartedness} , being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, he said unto the man, “Stretch forth your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored whole as the other.
And the Pharisees went forth and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, {so as} how they might destroy him {Jesus}. Mark (3: 1-6)
Another type of argument presented by some other writers of letters in the New Testament, namely Paul shows yet a different but more complicated approach to this ‘Spirit of the Law’ idea. It is something similar to the Islamic concept of giving non-Muslims monetary help/gifts if they are sincere in finding out about Islam.
Naturally, this idea (philosophical presentation) can be turned into something of a quandary if one is not careful. That is exactly what happened to some early commentators of the New Testament in their confusion of deciding what some philosophical verses of the New Testament meant.
The result in getting it wrong******* led to the abandonment of the truth and the inclusion of errors in the religion now called Christianity. This ultimately led to the many different sects/philosophies found in modern day Christian worship.
*******A great example of getting ‘it’ wrong are things taken from Paul’s writings. Paul considered himself a Pharisee among Pharisees and kept religiously to Jewish observance of the law as well as the ‘traditions’ handed down from the religious fathers.
However, what he pushed for was the recognition from prophecies that GOD’s chosen one (the Messiah) had arrived and rose from a dead cycle of life of continuing non-ending struggles for eternity without the chance to see the fruits of man’s endeavors.
As we know now, if there is no Messiah, then there will be no Prophet Muhammad (pbh) who must come AFTER the Messiah. That means ‘NO Paradise’ (earthly or Heavenly) and therefore, life continues on and on with no let up in sight. This was what the Acts in the New Testament was getting at when it declared the EXPECTATIONS OF THE PROPHETS OR WHAT THEY WERE WORKING TOWARD:
Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. Acts (3: 24).
Can’t have a ‘countdown’ until the Messiah is born and completes his ‘before returning duties‘ signaling the ‘end is near’ concept and if one wants salvation it is better to concentrate ON MARRYING THE SPIRIT OF THE LAW WITH THE LETTER OF THE LAW SO AS IT WILL BE MORE MEANINGFUL THAN PURE ROTE MEMORY. THEREFORE, MAKING THE FAITH MORE ALIVE AND MORE MEANINGFUL!
The problem with Paul and others quite frankly is in putting this concept into words that could be understood and not taken out of future context. Therefore, Jesus (pbh) becomes the hope as well as the snare as talked about in the article, “The Messiah as reported by Prophet Isaiah“:
‘Jesus is both healer and snare at the same time. The ‘come follow me’ or do as I do (New Testament) is the healing but the what you do with your beliefs can be the snare.
To prove this we can now understand the following verse a little better: ‘Don’t think that I have come to bring peace….’ This pertains to the people who ‘twist’ the teachings into falsehoods and try to get into Paradise by another nonprescribed route as well as those who maintain that this worldly life makes the ‘spiritual sense’ of obedience to GOD a waste of time.
{But whosoever shall deny me {my lawful teachings} before men, I will also deny that person before my Father who is in Heaven.
“Don’t think that I am come to send peace on earth. I did NOT come to send peace, but a sword.
For I am come to ‘set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.’
And ‘a man’s foes shall be they of his own household’ Matthew (10: 33-36).
For the worldly, the path has become wide and smooth. For those looking for heavenly rewards, the pathway has become narrow and straight. Narrow and straight but sure and steady when remembrance of ALLAH is treasured!
